Pepperoni Pizza Bread - Recipe Group!

Well a little bit ago was recipe group with my church girls!  I hadn't actually done this pizza bread before but it turned out great!

So I didn't do the best of photographing making the pizza bread due to being in a rush but no fear here is the tutorial/recipe I followed and it has Wonderful photos!
See look YUMMY! Makes me want to make it all over again!

So here are some shots from my attempt!
I doubled the recipe so I had plenty to share.

I think I accidentally put a little more than 1/4 down in each for the first layer but oh well!

As you can see in all my doubling math I accidentally doubled in a spot I shouldn't!  I added way to much red sauce to the middle and didn't have enough to really cover the top.  The only issue this really causes is that when it's cooked and ready to serve it falls apart at that layer spot!  You kind of need the top dough to connect to the bottom to hold it all together!

Here is the recipe I got from Picky Palate!  I seriously suggest going and looking at her photos she took photos of almost all the steps!

Pepperoni Pizza Bread!

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons backing powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 cup quartered pepperoni slices, about 32
1/2 cup marinara sauce
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan Cheese

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and spray small bread pan with non-stick cooking spray.

2. Place flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and pepper into the bowl of a stand or electric mixer, mix to combine.

3. Slowly add in eggs, oil, buttermilk, Parmesan, Mozzarella and pepperoni until combined.

4. Pour half of the batter into prepared bread pan (9x5x2 3/4 inches)

5. Top evenly with marinara sauce then pour remaining batter over sauce.

6. Top with Italian seasoning and additional Parmesan Cheese.

7. Bake for 45-55 minutes (toothpick test) and let cool for 30 mins before removing from pan.

Makes 8 servings!

Oh by the way the reason my night stands haven't turned up on the blog yet is because the clear protective coat was a FAIL!  It turned yellow!!!  So I need to sand it off and do some touch up paint! Which is what I will be working on today.  I went a little MIA as well due to training for a MASSIVE relay! I will post about that later though!

What a yummy sounding idea! Plus, for an outdoor event, it's probably easier to serve than pizza slices. :-)
